Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus
Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus, pray for us!
Today we honor the friends of Our Lord, Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead and his sisters Martha and Mary. Today is a special feast for those with anxiety as Martha is the Saint to whom Jesus expressed that she needs to trust in Him and take care of herself as she was “anxious about many things”. Jesus also admonished Lazarus’ sisters to not fear but have faith just before He raised Lazarus from the dead.
A plenary indulgence can be gained under the usual conditions by visiting a church named for the Saint of the day and praying the Our Father and Apostle’s Creed.
The next few links refer to the visions of Anne Catherine Emmerich as regards Martha, Mary and Lazarus:
Note: The identity of Mary is uncertain if related to Mary Magdalene or not but Pope Francis has included these three siblings today since 2021.
July 29th is also the anniversary of the death of Venerable Nelson Baker aka Father Baker and local celebrations in Buffalo take place in his honor.
